who we are
Dr. Ian Victor, an accomplished neurosurgeon, is the respected leader of our Neurospine team. His medical journey commenced with an MB, ChB degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2010. Complementing this, he achieved a diploma in emergency medicine and advanced life support certifications, broadening his experience over two years with Princess Cruises.
In his quest for specialization, Dr. Victor pursued a Fellowship in Neurosurgery at Tygerberg Hospital, acquiring his MMED in neurosurgery in 2019. His continuous pursuit of knowledge led to further specialization with a spinal fellowship at Spine Centre and an endoscopic spine fellowship at Spinescopy in India.
In addition to his neurosurgical expertise, Dr. Victor trained in pain medicine with Professor Andre Boezaart and is a Lumina certified pain doctor. His specialty includes minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery and skull base neurosurgery, consistently prioritizing the highest standard of patient care.

Dr Jonathan de Vries is a Cape Town–based general practitioner with a focused interest in pain medicine. He is currently working toward FIPP certification through the World Institute of Pain.
Alongside his pain medicine training, he maintains active involvement in surgical theatre, working closely with leading neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons in Cape Town. This combined experience supports a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the management of acute and chronic pain.
